"Based on the data, the last five years of forest destruction in Tanah Laut district of about 4,000 acres per year," said Forest Service Chief Land Sea, Ir H Ahmad hairin MSI, in Pelaihari, Tuesday (15/7).

According to him, the destruction of forests in Tanah Laut district is generally caused by mining and plantation activities. Where there is a conversion for plantations and forest use for mining.
